100 DAYS

Keep them @bay

In the news papers and on various news bulletins they announced “100 days” as if in a 100 days time we’ll all wake up, shake our heads and say as a collective “what an awful dream”.

I want to Believe

The count down like the count down of sleeps till Christmas where as in this twisted version Santa has been a complete and utter Bastard and will not only come for your presents and food but will blame you for there loss. The wait can be compared to waiting in a very long dinner queue for what has been promised as a succulent feast but as time passes, you get to the front only to find the food is all cold, rancid slop. “100 days”? We at the Guff ask what about the previous 1725, we’ve had a (heartless) Tory led government that did not win outright and thus has no mandate to govern instead being propped up by their (spineless) Lib Dem junior partners, an opposition that prefers sounbites and headlines rather than dealing with real issues and to top it off The UKIP fright train pulling into every station from the Beeb to Channel 4.

We’ve now reached the 60 + day mark and as expected with the 30 odd days that has passed have witnessed some outlandish electorial claims, promises, pledges, and fantasies as well as bribes, sweetners and gimmicks that have us at the Guff wishing for the election to come and go as quickly as possible for we know the only thing that’ll change is the leader of the party.

Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings could have written the soundtrack for the run up to this election, we salute you Miss Jones for your songs speak more truth to us than your average career politician. If Sharon Jones had these lot in her band they’d be known as “The Daft Kings”, daft for thinking that the monumental change in British politics has now shifted back and that we the people will just go quietly back to our lives of serfdom. We are awake, we are aware, we are The Guff
