In the original film the plot follows Stanley Ipkiss (Carrey), a hapless and timid bank teller who finds an enchanted mask that transforms him into a green-faced troublemaker who can cartoonishly alter himself and his surroundings at will.
In our remake the main character would have everyone believe he came from humble beginnings but the green reflection of money and riches from emerald mines ever reflected on his face allows us to know the truth (that he is actually richer than the bank).
Interesting piece of trivia, the current President and the crime boss in the film share the same initials.
When timid tech bro Elon became one of the richest men in the world, it would seem his ego took on the persona of the Norse god of mischief Loki. His entire life changed in the months before and during the time working for the Trump regime, but it wasn’t long before the mask slipped. Whilst masquerading as an expert in brilliance portraying himself as being a man of the people. Elon would have everyone believe him to be this suave, sophisticated genius exuding charm and confidence, which allowed him to catch the eye of D.T in the first place (that and his billions).
Unfortunately, under the mask’s influence, Elon also stole the spotlight, which angered senior crime lord D.T whose goons were blamed for the exaggerated claims of money saved as well as the overall increase in the cost of living.
So, as the two (spoilt rich kids) battled it out with their war of words on the platforms they acquired (Twitter) or set up themselves (Truth Social) (DT calling Elon a drug addict) the final act of mischief had the man in the mask doing what some would say was the unforgivable, and this was announcing with his MAGAphone the fact that D.T’s name appeared in the dreaded Epstein Files.
