A group of misfits enter a Las Vegas dodgeball tournament in order to save their cherished local gym from the onslaught of a corporate health fitness chain. Whereas in the GP remake we see a group of misfits enter the White House and rather than wanting to save the thing they cherish from the corporates they instead jump into bed with them.
It all started so well, team Trump managed to recruit the world’s richest man, the owner of one of the most popular (anti) social media megaphones. These two billionaire buddies who it would seem had everyone bowled over, had a firm grip on power, striking down anyone that got in their way, allowing them to create the dreaded D.O.G.E
We at GP think we know the real reason for the creation of DOGE. It isn’t as what is widely thought to be a department of efficiency, but more like a showing of deficiency. It shows how rather than wanting to put America’s books in order, it’s actually more comfortable burning books and ordering many hard-working Americans out of a job. Much was made about the hand gesture of Mr Musk (we feel it lent more to a Roman than Nazi salute) but however way you look at it was a sign of a power-hungry person who wishes to emulate those who subjugated people (at best) or, well we know the rest.
Someone once said the only thing powerful people want is more power, and they get this by disempowering people through control, coercion, or cunning. All this whilst wanting the world to gaze upon them as “The Most…” (fill in the blanks), does it need for every newsreader to lead with “The Most”… before uttering their name, as if it gives them superiority over the rest of us, after all they are only human, aren’t they?
The only thing Donald Trump’s latest government is efficient in is being untruthful and unlawful, they have managed to make the lies so big that the things like accuracy and truth become small in comparison. Under this administration America has become not too dissimilar to a bowling ball, hollowed out, with a hard but well-polished exterior whilst the holes created in its society filled with the fingers of its billionaires as it is they who are truly in control.
