As it’s the time of year to celebrate the birth of “The King of Kings” (rather than the birth of capitalism) we at GUFFPOST would like to put the following to our readership.
We are not about to speak ill of the dead but would like to mention a thought that’s puzzled us in the office for several months. But first we need to speak of two people who probably never met and whose lives could not have been so different (both being born 2 years apart but dying less than 2 months apart). First, we have Amou Haji (not his real name) who because of his personal hygiene was labelled “The Dirtiest Man Alive”. Amou lived to the ripe (no pun intended) old age of 94 in Iran and would frequently dine on roadkill and also smoke a pipe using animal excrement as a pipe filler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amou Haji.
At the other end of the spectrum is our dear departed Queen Elizabeth II who passed away at the age of 96. The Queen dined on the finest cuisine, wanted for nothing, and was waited on hand and foot for her entire life (due to her title and her wealth) being one of the world’s richest women. The Queen had only 2 more years of life than Amou Haji (due to being born 2 years before), wealth did not grant her superpowers or everlasting life, finally succumbing to death several weeks before Amou Haji
As Queen, her Majesty was also head of the Church of England, so (here we come to our puzzling thought) as head of the Church, the church that takes the King James version of the Bible as, “gospel” we must ask the following? If they do then we’d like to draw attention to Mathew 19:23-24 — Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again, I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
If this is the case, will it not be that Amou Haji was given an easier passage to enter the kingdom of Heaven and if so why do we continue to put on pedestals and our TV screens those who are the “wealthiest” in society? Why are we forced to listen to Bile Gates on issues he’s clearly not expert in or having to hear via a news bulletin that Noel Muskrat is now only the second richest man on the planet. Is wealth an indicator of wisdom or a misconception of status? Isn’t it about time we took a long hard look at how we not only see people but also why we should appreciate them (rather than worship them).
We conclude that it doesn’t matter if you smoke sh*t, think you know sh*t (when really you don’t know sh*t) or don’t do sh*t, we’ll all end up as worm sh*t.
